Adaptive steering dynamically adjusts the steering response of the front wheels based on how fast Edge is moving. At low speeds, adaptive steering allows the front wheels to turn more, with less turning of the steering wheel, giving you more low-speed agility. At highway speeds, the system further optimizes steering response, enabling the vehicle to react more smoothly and precisely to driver input. Adaptive steering can help the driver feel more comfortable and can make any drive more enjoyable.

The available BLIS with cross-traffic alert helps make driving more convenient. It uses radar to detect a vehicle in your blind spot and can alert you with an indicator light in the appropriate exterior mirror. Cross-traffic alert helps detect traffic approaching from the sides when backing out of parking spots. Included in the available Technology Package.

Ultrasonic sensors measure the distance from other vehicles, and once an appropriate spot is identified, you're signaled to stop and accept the system's assistance. While driving slowly near parking spots, activate this feature and Edge will scan for available ones. With a few actions on your part – shifting, accelerating and braking – the vehicle can smoothly parallel park or back into a perpendicular parking space.

With the Intelligent Access key in your pocket or purse, just give a little kick under the rear bumper and the available hands-free, foot-activated liftgate automatically opens – making it easier to load and unload cargo. You can also adjust the liftgate height, which is helpful for lower overhangs.

Drive with confidence. Intelligent AWD uses sensors to constantly monitor traction and balance torque between the front and rear wheels to enhance handling and maximize traction. Standard on Edge Sport and available on all other models.

The available Lane-Keeping System includes both the lane-keeping alert and the lane-keeping aid. The system can operate during the day or night. Lane-keeping alert warns you through a series of steering wheel vibrations, which mimic driving over a rumble strip, should the system detect an unintentional lane departure. Lane-keeping aid actively applies steering torque, which alerts you to direct your vehicle back into the target lane should the system detect an unintended lane departure.
