The 2021 Ford Escape at George Wall Ford

The 2021 Escape is fresh off of an all-new redesign, but that doesn’t mean that Ford doesn’t have a few treats in store for the coming model year. For 2021, the Escape sees new updates to convenience and comfort technology across multiple trims, and still brings familiar efficiency and safety to the table as well.

Comfort and Convenience Updates

The 2021 Ford Escape is packed full of the latest technology, comfort, and convenience features. For example, futuristic features such as adaptive cruise control and traffic-sign recognition will now be included on the optional Ford Co-Pilot 360 Plus package.

Furthermore, the Escape’s Technology package gets features like a hands-free power liftgate and memory settings for the driver's seat and side mirrors, while the Escape Convenience package receives a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, keyless entry, and LED exterior lighting.

Efficiency is Everything

The Ford Escape is renowned for its exceptional fuel economy, and 2021 is no different. For the coming model year, Ford has expanded the availability of the Escape’s hybrid powertrain to both the SE and SEL trims, and has added it as the standard on the Escape Titanium. Across the entire lineup, the plug-in hybrid earns an EPA-estimated 37 miles of electric range and an EPA-estimated 44 miles per gallon in the city.

Even with traditional trim levels, the Escape’s efficiency is still impressive. The 2021 Ford Escape 1.5L three-cylinder front-wheel drive model gets 27 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon on the highway for a combined rating of 30 miles per gallon.

Even with the largest and most capable powertrain option, the turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder with all-wheel drive, the EPA has still given the 2021 escape an estimated fuel efficiency rating of 23 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway for a combined 26 mpg.

Safety You Can Count On

The 2021 Ford Escape prioritizes safety for its drivers and passengers. In fact, it has recently earned a five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) as well as a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

These awards were surely a result of the Escape’s multiple driver assistance features, which includes standard forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, standard lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist, and standard blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
