Placing a Vehicle Reservation with George Wall Ford

Placing reservations and online custom orders are a newer practice that Ford developed in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, and while lockdowns aren’t as strict anymore, this remote customer capability has stuck around to make the shopping process as convenient as possible. With new cars and trucks still recovering from a global inventory shortage, more customers are choosing to take advantage of reservation programs and place orders with dealerships. However, since the process is still a bit new, you might not be familiar with how to start placing a reservation or order online. But no worries, we can catch you up to speed with the process!

Differences Between a Reservation and an Order?

It’s important to know that reservations and orders are not exactly the same thing when you’re ready to purchase your new Ford. Both reservations and orders happen online and each takes deposits, but the reservation is simply a confirmation that you do eventually want to put in an order for your next vehicle. Luckily, the cancellation and refund process is simple for a reservation, but the cancellation process for an order is a little different and you might not receive a complete refund depending on the timing. When you switch a reservation to an order, you can also alter your vehicle specs to give yourself a bit more flexibility and time to discover the perfect configuration for your needs.

Make Your Vehicle Reservation

Placing a reservation for a vehicle will guarantee that you are on the list to get your new Ford model when it’s next available. It also helps prevent you from needing to deal with popular models selling out quickly and basically makes sure that you’re queued up for the vehicle you want. Although reservations happen online, they are made in connection with your local Ford dealership, like George Wall Ford. Essentially, our dealership takes your deposit payment and is the place to contact if you need to make any changes or cancel your reservation.

In order to place a reservation, you need to have or create a Ford account online. Once you log in, you’ll include your information and vehicle specifications for the model you want to reserve, then choose George Wall Ford as your dealership, and place payment for a refundable reservation deposit, which will go towards the cost of the vehicle. After that, you’ve officially reserved your vehicle!

Place Your Vehicle Order

When your vehicle’s reservation number is up next in the list, you’ll be notified by Ford that you should convert your reservation into an order. You’ll then have to log back into your account where Ford will confirm your information and vehicle details, verify George Wall Ford as your authorized Ford dealer, and take an order deposit, which goes directly to the dealership. After that you’ve officially placed your order!
