Ford Lowers BlueCruise Prices and Simplifies Access

October 7th, 2024 by

Ford is making it easier than ever for U.S. customers to access and enjoy their BlueCruise hands-free highway driving technology by lowering the price of both annual and monthly plans. In addition to the price reductions, Ford is also simplifying how new vehicle owners can activate BlueCruise, giving them more flexibility and ensuring that they can tailor their experience to suit their driving habits and needs. These changes come at a time when more and more drivers are looking for ways to enhance their time on the road, whether they’re commuting to work in stop-and-go traffic or setting out on a long road trip.

At the heart of Ford’s updated approach to BlueCruise is a streamlined activation process. Beginning with the 2025 model year, Ford will offer customers the option of a one-year plan or a one-time purchase that permanently activates BlueCruise on their vehicle. The one-year plan will either be included as a standard feature or offered as an add-on, depending on the specific vehicle line and trim. This flexibility gives drivers the freedom to choose a pricing structure that works best for them, ensuring that BlueCruise is more accessible than ever.

For those who prefer a longer-term commitment, the one-time purchase option is a convenient solution. This option allows customers to activate BlueCruise once and enjoy it for the lifetime of the vehicle, eliminating the need for future renewals. This is particularly appealing to drivers who rely on BlueCruise for their daily commutes or frequent long-distance travel, as they won’t have to worry about ongoing payments or reactivating the service.

Even for customers who don’t select the one-year plan or one-time purchase at the time of their vehicle order, Ford is offering a generous trial period. A 90-day complimentary trial will allow these customers to experience hands-free driving without any upfront commitment. This trial period is a great way for drivers to get a feel for the convenience of BlueCruise and decide whether it fits their driving needs. At the end of the trial, customers can choose to activate the service on either an annual or monthly basis, depending on their preferences and needs.

This flexibility is key to Ford’s approach, allowing customers to only pay for BlueCruise when they actually need it. For example, a driver might choose to activate the service just for a month during a road trip, then let it lapse until their next big journey. Alternatively, they might activate it for a few months during the holiday season when highway driving is more frequent. This kind of on-demand activation makes BlueCruise an attractive option for drivers who want the convenience of hands-free highway driving but don’t necessarily need it year-round.

Ford is also expanding the availability of BlueCruise across more vehicle models for the 2025 model year, ensuring that even more customers can take advantage of this cutting-edge technology. Whether they drive an electric, hybrid, or gas-powered vehicle, Ford customers will have greater access to BlueCruise. Currently, the technology is available on popular models such as the Ford Explorer, Ford Expedition, F-150, F-150 Lightning, and the Mustang Mach-E. As the 2025 model year approaches, BlueCruise will be integrated into an even wider range of Ford vehicles and trims, making it easier for drivers to enjoy the benefits of hands-free driving regardless of their vehicle type.

For the 2025 model year, Ford has established a pricing structure that reflects the company’s commitment to making BlueCruise more accessible. The one-year plan, priced at $495, will either come standard with the vehicle or be available as an optional add-on during the vehicle order process, depending on the vehicle line and trim. Meanwhile, the one-time purchase option, available on select 2025 models, will cost $2,495 MSRP. Customers who purchase a new BlueCruise-equipped 2024 or 2025 vehicle from a dealership will also have the opportunity to upgrade to the one-time purchase if they so choose. Additionally, customers will be able to roll the cost of the one-year plan or the one-time purchase into their vehicle financing, further simplifying the payment process.

This new pricing structure, which takes effect on October 1, 2024, also applies to all Ford vehicles equipped with BlueCruise, including those already on the road. The annual plan will now cost $495, while the monthly plan will be available for $49.99. For customers already using BlueCruise, the price drop will be reflected in their next payment, making the service even more affordable.

As Ford continues to innovate and refine its BlueCruise offering, the company is ensuring that more drivers can enjoy the benefits of hands-free driving. Whether through lower pricing, flexible activation options, or expanded availability across vehicle models, Ford is making it clear that BlueCruise is the future of highway driving.
