Ford Unveils Enhanced E-Transit Tech For Decade Anniversary

In 1965, a collaboration between Ford’s UK and German branches gave birth to the Transit, swiftly becoming a British staple before extending its influence globally. A decade ago, Ford brought this phenomenon to the U.S., where it rapidly claimed the title of America’s best-selling commercial van. With over 1.2 million Transit vans assembled in the past decade, an astounding 99% of them continue to roam the roads, testifying to the durability and reliability of this iconic workhorse.

In 2022, Ford’s commitment to innovation materialized with the introduction of the E-Transit electric van, now America’s top-selling electric van. It has saved customers over 3 million gallons of gas and 25 million kg of CO2 emissions. As we step into the 2024 model year, Ford Pro enhances the E-Transit’s range, offering an estimated 159 miles on low-roof cargo van models with 89 kWh of usable energy—an impressive 26% increase over its predecessor.

With a peak power of 176 kW, the 2024 E-Transit boasts faster charging capabilities, achieving a 49% increase in range after just 15 minutes on a DC fast charger. Charging from zero to 100% takes a mere six hours and 11 minutes using the Ford Pro Series 2 80A charging station—an incredible 22% faster than previous models. Introducing Pro Power Onboard, providing 2.4 kW of power while in motion or charging, further amplifies the E-Transit’s versatility.
